Getting Dimlux Ballast Control Right the First Time
Dimlux ballast control from the Hydro-X pays off in rooms where the lights are the biggest heat source. The controller can bring the ballasts up slowly at dawn, hold a power ceiling through the day and cut back if the room overheats. Before wiring, confirm each ballast is a Dimlux model with external low-volt control. Fixtures with two dimmer knobs that drive two lamps on their own do not respond to the Hydro-X. Follow the cut sheet for the cable path between the adapter and the ballast control port. Leave enough slack so a ballast can be pulled for service without unplugging the line. Use the LED as the first check when a light ignores a schedule. If it is dark, reseat the RJ12 plug at both ends before changing any settings. Give the light channel a clear name on the controller, such as the room or row. LED fixtures and other ballast brands use their own adapters in the TrolMaster range.
