TrolMaster DSP-1: A Multi-Function Timer on Your Hydro-X
This module works like a multi-function timer, run from the Hydro-X screen instead of a dial on the wall. Anything that should run by time rather than by a sensor reading can plug into it. That includes circulation fans, pumps, lights and other gear that follows a schedule. TrolMaster rates it for any device drawing 10 amps or less at 120 volts. The controller can switch the outlet at fixed on and off times through the day. It can also run a recycling timer that repeats an on period and an off period around the clock. When paired with an Aqua-X 24 VAC irrigation module, the station can serve as a master pump control. It links to a Hydro-X, Hydro-X Pro or Hydro-X Plus by RJ12 cable. The station accepts input from 100 to 240 volts AC at 50 or 60 Hz. It plugs in with a 3-prong attaching plug and shows its state on an LED. Each box includes a 16 ft RJ12 cable, a 4 ft RJ12 cable and an RJ12 T-splitter. The station is ETL and FCC registered.
Programming a Timer Device Station
Run the RJ12 cable from the controller or the last module in line, then plug the station into an outlet. Plug the device you want on a schedule into the station. Press the address button on first install so the Hydro-X registers the new module. A fast-blinking green LED means it is not addressed yet or the cable needs reseating. Slow-blinking green shows it is addressed and off. Solid green means the outlet is on. Blinking red points to an overload, and unplugging the station from power resets it. In the controller, assign the station to a program and choose fixed times or a repeating cycle. Short cycles suit circulation fans and misting, while fixed times suit lights and daily tasks. Check the load on the device label so it stays within the rated current. The station is rated for rooms from 32 to 122°F at up to 90% humidity. Label each station with its job, since several identical modules can share one controller.
