Installing a Quiet Duct Fan on a Large Exhaust Line
At this size, the S-Prime suits a large grow room, a shared exhaust trunk or a commercial space where noise matters. The insulated casing quiets the fan body, but sound still travels down the duct, so add a silencer where the outlet is near people. The fan is heavy enough to need its own hangers or brackets fixed to structure. Never let the ducting carry its weight. On an exhaust line, mount a carbon filter on the inlet side and duct the outlet outdoors. Clamp both collars and seal every joint with foil tape. Plan the circuit as well, because the motor uses a sizeable share of a standard 15 A breaker. Keep the fan within its temperature limits, away from heat sources such as lamp exhaust. A backdraft damper on the outlet stops cold air returning when the fan is off. Disconnect power before cleaning, then wipe dust off the impeller blades between crops.
