Netafim Flex Net Pipe, 2 in With 40 in Outlets

Row crops planted on 40 in beds call for a lateral at every bed and nothing in between. This FlexNet coil, Netafim item 43003-005442 and model 05FX02PIPE50-40, carries an outlet every 40 in. Every outlet is welded into the pipe and threaded 1/2 in female. A tee or elbow start connector threads into it and holds the dripline. The joint is leak-proof with Netafim fittings, and it needs no Teflon tape or glue. Pipe size is 2 in nominal, with a 2.0 in inside diameter and a 2.09 in outside diameter. The maximum recommended working pressure is 36.2 psi. The polypropylene is fully recyclable and resists both UV and chemicals. Each coil holds 328 ft of pipe and weighs about 33 lb with the outlets fitted. Lying flat when empty, the pipe rolls into a compact coil for storage and transport.

Deploying Flexible Pipe With 40 Inch Outlet Spacing

Lay the pipe with the stripe facing the ground and the outlets facing up. Prepare a shallow ditch first so the pipe rests on the soil rather than bridging between beds. On windy days, do not leave an empty pipe on the ground. Fill it right away, or hold it down with small soil mounds about every 6.5 ft, keeping clear of the outlets. Never bend the pipe while it is under pressure, and keep any curve to a radius of 16.5 ft or more. For a sharp change of direction, use an elbow. Feeding 5/8 in thinwall dripline at 92% uniformity on level ground, the maximum manifold length is 120 ft at 1 psi friction loss with 1.46 GPM laterals. At 2.50 GPM per lateral the 1 psi limit is 83 ft, and at 2 psi the two limits become 150 ft and 107 ft. Fit a pressure regulator or relief valve when the inlet pressure runs above the rating. Keep the coil label for traceability and warranty.
