Netafim FlexNet Submain Pipe, 2 in, 36 in Outlets

Beds laid out on 36 in centers need a submain that drops one lateral exactly where each bed starts. Netafim item 43003-005342, model 05FX02PIPE50-36, does that with an outlet every 36 in along the pipe. The outlets are integral welded connectors, each threaded 1/2 in female to receive a start connector. Using Netafim fittings, the joint seals without Teflon or glue. The pipe body is 2 in FlexNet, 2.0 in across the bore with a 0.030 in wall. Its rated ceiling is a maximum recommended working pressure of 36.2 psi. Netafim makes FlexNet from 100% recyclable polypropylene, and the pipe resists UV and chemical attack. Under pressure it holds its length with zero axial elongation, so it does not snake across the headland. Empty, it folds flat and survives foot traffic and tractors. Each coil runs 328 ft and weighs about 33 lb including the welded outlets.

Sizing Runs With 36 Inch Outlet Spacing

The length limits for this pipe assume 5/8 in thinwall dripline, 92% emission uniformity and no slope. With 1 psi of friction loss in the manifold and laterals taking 1.46 GPM, the run can reach 111 ft. Heavier laterals at 2.50 GPM bring that down to 78 ft. Accepting 2 psi of friction loss raises the limits to 141 ft and 99 ft. Work out the lateral flow first, then pick the run from the matching column. Thread a tee start connector into each outlet that feeds a bed, and an elbow at the ends of the block. Twist-lock and fast-ring start connectors suit 630 and 875 thinwall dripline. Seal any outlet without a lateral using a short MPT plug, and fit a mini combination air vent where the line needs one. Lay the coil out on the surface or bury it, as the field requires.
