Netafim 7.9 GPH Rod Mount Spray Stake, Single Pattern
A single spray head set at the pot edge is the simplest layout to install and to inspect. This brown Netafim head, item 22500-005530, carries a single spray pattern for 7.9 GPH dripper assemblies. Its fan covers 160 degrees and reaches 8 to 10 in from a height of 3.5 in. Netafim pairs the 7.9 GPH flow with pots of roughly 5 to 15 gallons. This head is the rod mount version, made to clip onto a 12 gauge metal rod. Rods are ordered separately, either 8 in or 12 in long. A rod set deeply holds the head firm in very coarse bark. Moving the head up the rod enlarges the wetted pattern without changing the flow. The spray points downward, keeping water on the soil and off the pot wall. Each bag contains 50 brown heads.
Placing a Bark Mix Spray Stake for Even Coverage
Drive the rod near the pot edge, then clip the head on and aim the fan across the mix. Attach the brown PC dripper assembly so the stake color matches its flow. That assembly's WPCJL dripper delivers the same output to the first pot and the last. Netafim's chart shows a 685 ft run of 137 pots at 60 in spacing, 40 psi and 1 in PE pipe. One hundred stakes at this flow draw about 13 GPM, which helps when sizing valves. Keep inlet pressure in Netafim's 22 to 55 psi window. Filter the supply to 120 mesh, and let each assembly's inlet filter catch what gets past. The built-in check valve feature stops drain-down onto the lowest pots after irrigation. Close an empty position by moving the tube and nipple to the side of the head. Recheck height through the season, raising the head as the canopy widens.
