Build an 8 Way Dripper Assembly With 18 in Stackable Tubes

When a bench is packed with small containers, even four pots per dripper can leave more emitters on the lateral than the job needs. Netafim's answer is to stack two manifolds on one dripper. This stackable flat MOD, item 40201-007500 and model 014DMS-1818F, mounts on a flat 4-way assembly to make an eight-outlet unit. Its own four tubes each run 18 in, keeping the extra pots close in around the dripper. Every tube ends in a standard angle arrow dripper about 6-3/8 in long. With eight outlets sharing one dripper, each pot receives about 0.25 GPH. Netafim figures that every 10 GPM of supply can then water as many as 2,000 pots. The tubes are Super Flex UV White PE, solid white and completely opaque so algae cannot grow inside. That white wall also keeps water cooler in strong light. Each pack holds 25 stackable assemblies.

Pairing the Stackable Flat Manifold With a Feed Dripper

A stackable flat manifold works on top of a flat 4-way assembly, so plan one of each per dripper. Netafim lists the 2.0 GPH Woodpecker PC Junior as the matching dripper for both the 4-way and stackable builds. That dripper holds its rate from 10 to 45 psi and has a check valve that keeps the line from draining onto the lowest pots. Netafim's zone chart puts 1,000 plants on eight-outlet assemblies at about 4 GPM. Use the same configuration across a zone so the lower per-pot flow is identical for every plant. Seat each arrow at a slant toward the root ball, so water soaks in rather than tracking down the pot wall. Because water goes straight into the pot, foliage stays dry and disease has less chance to spread. The flat, low-profile manifold stands up to foot traffic along the bench. If the plant spacing changes, swap the manifold and keep the supply tubing and dripper in place. Pull the manifolds apart at the end of a crop, and the tubing rolls up without tangling.
