Netafim 2 Inch Electric Pressure Reducing Valve in One Body
A big drip or micro zone usually needs two devices at its head. One switches it, and the other holds pressure in the emitters' range. This Series 80 build does both jobs on a 2 in angle body, model 61PRELTH2GH3AN. A solenoid on the bonnet opens and closes the zone when the controller calls. Beside it, a reducing pilot reads outlet pressure and trims the main diaphragm to hold a set point while water flows. Every control mounts on the bonnet, and no tubes connect to the valve body. Rated flow is 0.25 to 176 GPM, with 7 to 150 psi on the inlet and water up to 140°F. Fully open, the angle body loses about 0.1 psi at 20 GPM and 1.75 psi at 90 GPM. Body, bonnet and seat are glass-reinforced polyamide, with 304 stainless fasteners and a 302 stainless spring. The valve measures roughly 3-1/2 x 6-1/2 x 6-13/16 in and weighs 1.8 lb. Colour-coded pilot springs set the range: yellow 7-30 psi, green 14-65 psi or red 30-90 psi.
Running a Pressure Reducing Solenoid Valve at the Zone Head
The payoff is a simpler header, since one body replaces a zone valve, a separate regulator and the fittings between them. On a riser, the angle shape turns the outlet sideways and removes another elbow from the valve box. It suits greenhouse ranges and nursery blocks fed from a mainline that runs well above what the emitters want. Match the solenoid coil to the controller output before wiring, because a mismatched coil either burns out or never pulls in. Commission the zone by running it and turning the pilot until a downstream gauge reads the target. Once the reading holds, the controller takes over the schedule and the pilot keeps the pressure steady. This pressure reducing solenoid valve mounts vertically or horizontally to suit the header. Quick reaction to opening and closing, plus a drip-tight seal, keeps cycle timing accurate. Pressure only comes down through the pilot, so a supply that already runs low needs a pump rather than a valve. Recheck the set point whenever filters, pumps or zone layouts change.
Key Features
- Solenoid plus reducing pilot: Switches the zone and regulates its outlet pressure in one 2 in body.
- 0.25-176 GPM range: Handles a single block or a full greenhouse range on one valve.
- Angle body: Bottom inlet and side outlet remove the elbow on top of the riser.
- Bonnet-mounted controls: Solenoid and pilot sit on top, with no tubing plumbed into the body sides.
- Three pilot spring ranges: Colour-coded springs cover set points from 7 to 90 psi.
- Drip-tight closure: Quick reaction and a tight seal end each irrigation cycle cleanly.
- Vertical or horizontal mounting: Fits upright on a riser or flat along a crowded header.
