Mobius MBX Bucker Rolls for Restoring Stem Grip

Inside the MBX, two large-diameter rollers grab each stem and draw it through the feed holes while the buds stay behind. This set replaces both of them. The rollers are cast polyurethane, the same red material the MBX ships with. Cast polyurethane grips wet or dry stems firmly and stands up to repeated wash-downs. It also suits facilities that run to GMP standards. The top roller has a plain bore, while the bottom roller has a keyway that locks onto the drive. Snap rings hold each roller in place on its shaft. The rollers are driven by the 1/2 HP stem puller motor through the gearbox. On a machine rated up to 150 lbs per hour, fresh rollers keep that pulling power consistent. Worn rollers let stems slip, which slows feeding and can leave buds on the stalk. A spare set on the shelf turns a worn pair into a short maintenance job. The set fits the Mobius MBX Bucker.

Changing Replacement Bucker Rollers on the MBX

Set aside a clean bench and plan for a careful teardown. Gather a 9/16 wrench and socket, circlip pliers, a set of hex keys, a plastic or wooden pry bar and blue thread locker. Remove the guards, the die plate, the chipper cover and the side covers. Take off the motor and gearbox, keeping track of the spacer, bolt and washers. Release roller tension at the upper flange bearings on both sides. Remove the lower flange bearing and keep its small plastic bushings. Take off the side plate to reach the rollers. Wear safety glasses while removing the circlips, since they can spring loose. Slide both old rollers off, prying gently on the bottom one if it sticks. Clean the inside of the machine while it is open. Slide the new bottom roller onto its key, then fit the top roller. Seat each circlip fully in its groove and refit the spacer washers. Reassemble in reverse, using thread locker on the fasteners. Set roller tension so a small hex key just fits the adjuster gap, then tighten the bearing bolts.
