General Hydroponics FloraNova Bloom, a 4-8-7 Base in One Bottle
FloraNova Bloom is the flowering half of General Hydroponics' two-bottle FloraNova program, a thick liquid that carries a complete bloom base on its own. The label guarantees 4.0% nitrogen, mostly nitrate, with 8.0% available phosphate and 7.0% soluble potash. Secondary nutrients are built in at 4.0% calcium, 2.0% magnesium and 2.0% sulfur. Boron, chlorine, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc round it out, with the metals chelated for steady uptake. Sources include calcium and potassium nitrate, potassium and ammonium phosphate, magnesium sulfate and EDTA and DTPA chelates. Because everything sits in one bottle, there is no A and B to balance and no lockout from mixing concentrates in the wrong sequence. The formula is dense enough that a few millilitres per gallon reach a full bloom EC. That density is why the bottle needs a hard shake before every measure. This quart holds 946 mL of earthy, dark concentrate. It works the same way in hydroponics, coco, soilless mixes and soil.
Feeding a One Part Nutrient Through the Bloom Weeks
Switch over when the first flowers appear, running half-strength Grow and half-strength Bloom together through the transition week. GH's one-part chart then sets the rate by feeding style. A medium program runs 6.0 mL per gallon in early bloom, easing to 5.0 in mid bloom and 4.0 in late bloom. Light feeding for frequent irrigation or small blocks drops to 3.0–5.3 mL. Aggressive feeding for big pots and slow drybacks runs up to 7.5 mL. At the medium early-bloom rate, one quart mixes about 157 gallons of feed. Shake the bottle until the sediment lifts off the bottom, then measure straight into the reservoir water. Add supplements after the base and check EC before trusting the chart. The concentrate is strongly acidic, so wear gloves and rinse spills quickly. One part keeps mixing simple, but the ratio is fixed. Growers who steer phosphorus and potassium week by week add that control with a separate booster. Chart amounts are starting points, and real feeds should follow what the runoff and the plants show.
Key Features
- 4-8-7 Bloom Analysis: Extra phosphate and potash support flower set and bulking through the bloom weeks.
- Calcium and Magnesium Included: 4% calcium and 2% magnesium sit in the same bottle, so a separate cal-mag is often unnecessary.
- Chelated Micronutrients: Copper, iron, manganese and zinc arrive chelated for reliable uptake across the root zone.
- True One Part Formula: No A and B parts to balance, and no precipitation from mixing concentrates in the wrong sequence.
- Highly Concentrated: A few millilitres per gallon reach full strength, so a quart stretches across many reservoirs.
- Hydro, Coco and Soil: One feed program covers recirculating systems, drain-to-waste coco and containers of soil.
