Two Plants, One Tray: The AutoPot easy2grow Kit

This starter kit pairs two square pots in a single long tray and feeds them both from one valve. Each pot holds 2.2 gal of mix, about 9.6 in across the top and 7.9 in tall. The 2Pot tray runs roughly 22.6 in long by 10.8 in wide and comes with its own lid. An AQUAvalve5 clips into the tray floor and lets solution in to about 1 in deep. Then it closes and stays shut until the tray has been drunk dry. That gap between fills gives the roots a dry phase and pulls fresh air down into the mix. The supply is a 12.4 gal reservoir with its own lid and grommet. With nothing to plug in, the kit works on a patio, a windowsill bench or inside a small tent. AutoPot tags it as a fit for a 2 x 2 ft tent. Herbs, peppers, compact tomatoes and young mother plants all suit the smaller pots.

Setting Up a 2 Pot Watering System

This 2 pot watering system takes only a few minutes to plumb from the box. Seat the grommet and the 3/8 in golf filter in the reservoir outlet. Run the 5 ft of 3/8 in pipe through the inline tap to the AQUAvalve5. Raise the reservoir so its base sits at least 6 in above the valve. Lay a Root Control Square in each pot and a PotSock Square on the pot base, gold faces up. Fill with a fluffy, free-draining mix, about half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil. Plant starts that stand around 6 in tall and water each one through by hand until it drains. Keep the tap shut for 5 to 7 days while the roots move downward. Open it once the pots feel light, and the valve handles the feeding from then on. Rinse the filter as needed and top up the tank before it falls to a third. Extension kits can add more trays to the same line later.
