VEG+BLOOM DIRTY: One Base From Seedling to Harvest

This is Hydroponic Research's base nutrient for soil and peat, sold as a single powder for every growth phase. There is no part A and part B to balance, and no switch between grow and bloom formulas. The same powder feeds seedlings, cuttings, vegetative plants and flowering plants. Hydroponic Research rates it for soil and peat systems regardless of water quality. It carries alkalinity and cation exchange enhancers that keep it working in peat-based mixes. That makes it a match for premixed media such as Pro-Mix and Sunshine Mix. The blend also includes organic compounds alongside its micronized minerals. Listed mineral sources include monopotassium phosphate, potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate, magnesium sulfate and potassium sulfate. Iron and manganese come chelated with EDTA, with borax and molybdenum for trace elements. Ingredients are sourced in the USA and blended in California. Each batch is micronized, homogenized and tested for consistency. Hydroponic Research notes the powder works in hydroponics as well, though soil and peat are its target.

Feeding a One-Part Powder Nutrient Through the Cycle

The manufacturer schedule is measured in grams per gallon of water. Seedlings start at 1 gram per gallon, which reads about 0.2 EC. Cuttings in their first two weeks take 3 grams per gallon, close to 0.8 EC. From pre-flower growth through flower week seven, the rate is 5 to 6 grams per gallon. That range lands between 1.2 and 1.5 EC in most water. The chart lists no base feed for flower week eight. Weigh the powder on a gram scale rather than guessing with a spoon. Stir it into the full volume of water until it disperses, then check pH. For soil and peat, the suggested pH range is 6.0 to 6.3. Some varieties want a stronger feed, so raise the dose gradually while watching plant response. Water regularly in well-draining media to keep salts from building up. Store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place away from heat and sunlight, and wear a dust mask when weighing.
