Common Culture Tan Round Fabric Pot for Large Root Zones

This is a round fabric grow pot in a light tan colour, sized at 25 gallons for one large plant or a small fruit tree. It stands 21 in across the base and 16.5 in tall, so the root zone runs wide rather than deep. The wall is a 260 g non-woven fabric, the heavier of the two weights Common Culture uses. That extra weight gives the pot more body when it is packed with wet media. Air reaches the roots through every side of the bag. When a root tip meets the wall it dries, stops and branches, so the mix fills with fine feeder roots instead of circling ones. Excess water drains straight through the fabric and the base, which keeps the media from going soggy between waterings. The pale colour reflects more sun than a dark bag, which helps on a hot patio or a south-facing bed. The fabric is BPA-free and UV resistant, so it can sit outside through a full season and come back for another. Reinforced stitching holds the seam once the pot is loaded.

Setting Up a 25 Gallon Fabric Pot Indoors or Out

Pick the spot before filling, because a 25 gallon fabric pot full of damp mix is not something you drag across a floor. This style has no handles, so it suits plants that will finish where they start. Use a light, well-drained mix such as coco with perlite or a living soil cut with aeration. Heavy garden soil packs down in a bag this wide and holds water longer than the roots want. Indoors, stand it in a flood tray or a deep saucer to catch runoff. Outdoors, set it on level ground or pavers so the base drains evenly. Water slowly in a spiral from the edge inward until a little runs out the bottom. Fabric dries faster than plastic, especially along the outer band of the pot. In midsummer that edge may want a check every day. A layer of mulch or straw on top slows surface drying and protects the soil life underneath. Between runs, tip out the root ball, brush the fabric clean and let it dry before folding it flat.

Key Features

  • 25 Gallon Volume: A wide root zone for one large plant, a long-season tomato or a small fruit tree.
  • 260 g Fabric: The heavier Common Culture weight keeps the wall firmer under a full load of wet media.
  • Air Pruning: Roots branch at the breathable wall instead of spiralling around the inside of the pot.
  • Fast Drainage: Water leaves through the fabric and the base, so the mix stays airy between waterings.
  • Tan Colour: The light fabric reflects more sun than a dark bag in hot, exposed spots.
  • BPA-Free and UV Resistant: Safe for food crops and built to last several seasons outdoors.
